Leeward Kennels is a small kennel of high quality German Shorthaired Pointers.

We do not breed on a large scale, in fact, we are expecting our first litter in nearly five years in January 2013. We prefer to take our time to closely evaluate our dogs throughout every phase of their training and performance, to make sure we are continually improving our line with each breeding. To us, the "how" is as important as the "what", when it comes to performance. We demand dogs that develop early, hunt in a dynamic fashion, point with great intensity and style, have a strong natural instinct to retrieve and back, and show enthusiasm for every aspect of their training and hunting.

Our puppies are born in the house and handled daily from birth. We use the BioSensory Stimulation program to stimulate the pups' nervous and circulatory systems at a young age. This produces dogs which are adaptable to new situations, and therefore show an increased aptitude for learning. We make sure our puppies are highly socialized and temperament tested, and try to match the right puppy to the right owner.

As a full-time professional trainer, we offer training assistance in any form necessary, and complete training packages are available at a discount when purchased with your puppy. Our dogs are guaranteed to hunt and be free of hip displaysia, or we will replace the dog with a new puppy.

If you are looking for a dog that can perform well in any hunting situation, is trainable and cooperative, and is an excellent house dog and companion, then a Leeward GSP should be at the top of your list. If we do not have a litter available when you contact us, we will happily refer you to other conscientious breeders.

Leeward Kennels also offers Stud service by Cole vom James River, by live cover at the kennel or chilled semen. We also have a limited amount of Bjorn vom Jaeger-Meister frozen semen.
