Submitted by: Steve, Laurie on Jan 20, 2010We purchased two Gordon Setter puppies from Mike at Tamik Gordon's. We purchased a female from one liter and a male from a second liter. We couldn't stop at one!
First, the breeder Mike is a wealth of knowledge! Once we left with the puppies our relationship didn't end, if we have questions we know we can call him (i.e when our female went into heat, we had questions). Mike is always happy to answer any questions, give tips and truly cares about how the dogs are doing and cares who buys his dogs. He isn't going to place his dogs in a home that wont love and take care of them.
Secondly, the dogs are wonderful! They are truly a family pet and when in the field they are great hunters. We couldn't believe the natural instinct that these dogs had the first time out hunting - great pointing. When we brought our female home as a pup, she was pointing at butterflies. Another important thing is they train pretty easy, both potty and on the pet containment system (which we did our self, we didn't pay one of those large companies to come in install and train the dogs).
We have really enjoyed our Gordon setters, the are very loving and great with children. A great addition to the family.
We would 100% recommend Mike at Tamik Gordon's as a breeder. He is very dedicated to his dogs and the even the ones that he sells, that is a very important aspect of a good breeder!
