About Saddle Mountain Spinone
We are hunt-focused kennel located in SW Montana and we, and our Spinoni pack of dogs get ample time in wild birds in MT, ID, UT, and WY. We have cultivated a strong line of hunting Spinoni that also are great family dogs. Our puppies are raised underfoot and we breed with the intention of producing a conformationally correct, healthy, hunting pup with an outstanding family disposition. We host a NAVHDA event each year with Natural Ability, Utility, and Utility Prep Testing for our chapter of NAVHDA. We utilize our dogs for upland bird and waterfowl. Our kennel has produced outstanding family hunting dogs, obedience champions, and even a therapy companion.I welcome the opportunity to speak with you about our dogs and about our current litter. We recognize and respect the commitment a family makes in selecting the right puppy, as we were once in those same shoes with this breed ourselves. Just over three years ago I got a puppy from Saddle Mountain. He goes with me about everywhere. At the grocery, cashiers go out to “gather carts” so they can visit with him at my truck. He goes to shooting matches with me. Last week the board of directors voted him the club mascot of the American Single Shot Rifle Association. You can see his photo on the cover of the Single Shot Rifle Journal (July/August 2018). I try to treat him almost as good as he treats me, but that is a lofty standard. I was told by Saddle Mountain his personality would suit me. How could they be so right? He’s my best friend.

We have returned to this breeder twice for a pup, as they were not only great to deal with before and after we brought a pup home, provided us with endless information about the breed, but their dogs - hands down - were out of the box hunters! We like a dog that is horizontal in the house and not bouncing off the walls, which is what we got, but they are literally hunting fools when you decide you want to pick up a gun. We recommend Saddle Mountain Spinone highly for healthy happy family dogs, and dogs that will hunt.
