About L'Escarbot Kennels

Welcome to L'Escarbot Kennels, Home of the French Brittany Spaniel (L'Epagneul Breton). USA's premier kennel for French Brittany Spaniels.

At L'Escarbot Kennels we hunt, train, and breed French Brittany Spaniels that are from the top pedigrees in Europe. We have been involved with the French Brittany Spaniel for many years. Before that time, since we were young kids, we had the American Brittany. Our passion for the Brittany Spaniel has been with us ever since.

Our regular trips to Europe have allowed us to develop wonderful relationships with numerous breeders and trainers of the French Brittany Spaniel all across Europe. We have also imported ten dogs for our breeding and hunting stock. The rest of our dogs are sired by dogs from or in France. Our total of 14 dogs, we believe, is a manageable breeding program.

Having the most diverse genetic pool in the U.S.A. allows us to make excellent choices. Choices that are not compromised by having a small and limited gene pool. Our breeding focuses on three main characteristics:

natural hunting ability
temperament
correct conformation (true Type)

L'Escarbot Kennels specializes in training Epagneul Bretons. We offer both hourly and monthly training.

Hourly training gives us time with the owner and his/her hunting companion. In this hour we are training you to handle your dog, both in the field and at home. We teach basic commands such as heel, here, and whoa. At this time we can also gun break your dog, work with your dog in the field and introduce your dog to birds.

Monthly training consists of 2 to 3 sessions per day working on basic commands and leading to intense work. The training depends on each individual dog and what the owner wants from the training.

L'Escarbot Kennels does not take dogs younger than six months old for the Monthly Training. Hourly training is offered per owner request, usually at four months or older.
