Submitted by: Chris Bledsoe on Nov 16, 2013I took my one year old llewellin setter Penny to Bruce. She had a lot of problems for him to work through but in just 6 short weeks he totally changed her in to a hunting dog I am proud to take out in the field. I would recommend Bruce to anybody wanting to find a top notch trainer
Submitted by: Dennis Horner on Sep 16, 2013Bruce has trained my setter, Annie Oakley as well as dogs of friends. Annie, now 5, points, backs and retrieves very well. The results are exemplary. I highly recommend Bruce for his expertise with pointing dogs.
Submitted by: Matt Bahnmaier on Sep 01, 2012I took my male 1 yr old English Setter to Bruce. He had him just over a month, and the results were unbelievable. I'm so excited for the up and coming hunting season to show my dog off. I would highly recommend Bruce to anyone. I will be taking any future dog of mine to Bruce.
Thanks for everything.
Submitted by: Bruce Pinkston on Jul 21, 2012I was told by a Field Trial buddy if you want your dog to be reliable to retrieve, take him to Bruce Anderson. I was so impressed with the change in my Pointer I brought my young female pup to him to work with too, he started her and she handles like a 4 year old. Bruce has the natural ability to READ a dog,if I need training down the road Bruce will get my call.
Submitted by: chris on Jul 13, 2012I went to Overbrook with my 4mo old brittany today and Bruce sat down with me and talked me through the training process. I spent 2 hours with him and in that 2 hours I learned more than most people do about dog training in a life time. This man definitely knows what he is talking about and I can see why he has so many return customers. The only thing that kept me from having Bruce train my dog personally is that he had no more kennel space. In the future however, if and when I purchase another bird dog, it will definitely be trained by Bruce at Finishing Touch Kennels.
Submitted by: Larry Donley on Sep 24, 2009Bruce recently trained our Golden Retriever in the force fetch retrieve. We are very happy with the results. The dog is exceeding our highest expectations. Bruce also has proven to be very reliable about communicating with us. Bruce is always available to answer any questions you may have. He just doesn't train and then disappear. As Bruce would say "Junior is now a gentleman". We would highly recommend Bruce as a trainer. He is the best!
Submitted by: Kurt Eberspacher on May 05, 2008I met Bruce in 2004 at a NSTRA Field Trial and he has been my trainer ever since. I purchased my first english setter puppy from Bruce in 2005 and this past spring, Beachs Bad Girl became a NSTRA Champion. Not only have I purchased my setters from Bruce, but I have been wild bird hunting with him and used his stud dogs. Our dogs have good disposition, they are good mothers and make great family dogs. With the quality of english setters that I have purchased from Bruce, I have started my own kennels named, Stormy Beach English Setters. Bruce has valuable knowledge, quality dogs and great connections throughout the midwest and beyond.
Submitted by: Joe Ficenec on May 01, 2008I've known Bruce as a trainer, breeder and a friend for over 6 years. He's a top-notch person -very dependable, hard-working and honest. As a retrieving trainer, he takes second to no one. He has a wonderfully keen eye for dog talent and he uses that to advantage in his breeding operation. Despite whelping only one or two litter per year, Bruce has produced a high percentage of pups that have developed into NSTRA winners.
Submitted by: Norm Kermmoade on Mar 24, 2008I have known Bruce for many years hunting, trialing and training. He is a first rate dog trainer, honest and straight forward, He has worked with several of my dogs with the forced retrieve and all have done well. I would reccomend Bruce at finishing touch bird dog training for all of your training needs or for a first rate english setter, his setters are fierce competitors and great bird dogs. Bruce always delivers on what he says.
Submitted by: Mike Weis on Feb 14, 2008I have worked with Bruce since 2000 and find him to be honest and reputable. He is a very good trainer and reads dogs well. We have hunted and trialed together since 2000. I bought my first setter pup from him out of Gabbie and Diamond completed his NSTRA Championship in 2007. I would definitely recommend him for a trainer and breeder.
