I bought a female pup, (Echo) from Grant in July. At 4 mos. she was pointing and retrieving grouse on my backpacking trips. When pheasant and duck season kicked off (5 mos. old) she did great, never came home empty handed, although we went out a couple dozen times. I never trained her at all, for hunting, other than just playing fetch with her, as I thought that maybe she was a bit young, but she picked things up quickly and intuitively, by the end of the season she caught a running pheasant in brush that had not been shot. She has a soft mouth and doesn't damage birds. While not hunting she loves to play tug, go for runs or hikes, and snuggle. She still thinks it's bird season and is constantly pointing birds on hikes, runs, etc. I bring her on a 4 mile run daily, off leash, as she has a high energy level. She is somewhat sensitive, crate training was a fiasco, so she sleeps on our bed and has access to the backyard via dog door, which has worked out well. We put a bark collar on her, on vibrate, during the day, while we were at work, for two days, and barking has not been a problem since, according to my retired next door neighbor. Better than I expected for hunting and a good dog in the off-season for me and my wife.

I bought a female pup from Grant in 2014 and she has been an awesome dog. I hunt upland birds ducks and geese. We also camp in the summer time. She was very easy and willing to be trained. She has a good range and loves the water. She points and retrieves. In my world that is what I wanted.

I purchased my Griffon, Axle, from Grant of Snake River Griffons in October of 2013. With my minimal time communicating with Grant and his wife they seemed like great people and honest. Axle has been a wonderful hunting dog and a wonderful pet. He received a perfect score of 112 in natural ability test for NAVHDA in the spring of 2014. When I called Grant and told him about Axle's performance he was excited and said, "I love hearing that, this is why I do this."

We purchased our male from Grant last fall, he came to us already well socialized and lovable. He is growing into a stout, smart, eager to please dog! Very pleased with our pup, thank you Grant!
