We purchased our beautiful Bailey, "Beak" as we call her in December 2014. She is the most lovable dog, we couldn't be happier with her. She is a true hunter. We will definitely be purchasing another from Bill.

I was lucky enough to get a puppy from Bill at High Desert Kennels in December of 2014. From the very first time I contacted him, he was kind, respectful and patient and was happy to answer the many questions I had. When we picked up Cedar, our puppy, it was clear how much enthusiasm and passion he had for raising GSPs. Cedar's about five months old now and is proving to be an exceptional dog. He has a fine temperament and fits in beautifully as a family dog--he is curious, sweet, and loyal--and is an extremely quick learner. He gets along well with the other GSPs in our house, and treats the older dogs with respect. But most of all, his instincts have shown from day one--from when he stalked his little puppy ball in the first few days we got him home, to when he first pointed a bird at four months. It has been incredible to watch him work, even at such a young age! We took him out to a preserve at 16 weeks, just to get him exposed to birds and the guns, and he locked up on a live chukar in the first twenty minutes we'd been there. It was incredible. He also just retrieved a pheasant a week ago, now at five months. I can't speak highly enough of Bill's dogs, and I can't wait to get another puppy from him!

Got a great pup from this kennel. 6 months old, took her hunting last weekend and she can already point em out and hold em. She also loves the water and retrieves ducks and is a great family dog. What a nice disposition and so easy to train. Thank you Bill!

In April of 2011 I purchased a female GSP from Bill have been incredibly happy ever since. Bill is a great guy to work with and was never pushy over a 7 week period when I was trying to decide which pup I wanted despite me having 1st pick. Bill's kennel was always in top condition and all his dogs looked excellent! The pup I purhased from his kennel is now 1 1/2 years old and entering her second hunting season. By 7 months she had pointed & retreived Blue and Ruffed grouse, Chukar, Huns, Quail, and Pheasants. I would highly recommend any person looking for a qaulity bird dog to give Bill a call and see what he can do for you.

My dog Tilamook. Purchased randomly from Cabelas parking lot by my wife for my birthday Oct. 2009. I have never met Mr. Bacon. Tilly is so bonded to our family. We take her everywhere. She is so perfectly mannored and exceptionally smart. A wonderful addition to our family. I am a novice hunter. 2010 I took Tilly Chukar hunting behind Arrowrock. I don't know what I'm doing. Tilly on the other hand naturally finds Chukars. She points them, holds them, waits for me to arrive, they flush, I shoot, and she retrieves the first time out! She is a machine on Chukars and Quail I'm telling you. This year, 2011, I'm hunting Pheasants at Parma WMA. Dense brush... Tilly hunts much closer. She gets busy in the bush unbelievably. Points a rooster in thick crap. I ask her to get it and she moves in. The rooter flushes and I shoot it over the snake river. Tilly doesn't like water, but she jumps in and retrieves to my feet. I wouldn't know how to train this behavior. She is a natural.

I would recommend to any novice, serious hunter or outdoorsman to High Desert Kennel. After extensive research and word of mouth, I purchased, Raphael, from the kennel while I was stationed in Germany. This breed was engineered for hunting. Mr. Bacon takes great care to ensure a quality breeding program that produces great pups.
