About RoyaleRun Kennel

We are accepting a few clients for the 2012 season! Please contact us via email or cell phone as we are currently on the road! We have finished our first Field Champion for 2012 in January! Congrats to the owners!

There are many trainers in all sections of the country and just as many ways to train a bird dog. What sets David King apart from many of the other trainers is his ability to quickly assess the dogs personality and temperament, thereby giving him the ability to train to that dogs way of thinking. Not all dogs are built the same in body & soul, so the training must be customized to each dog.

He will assess your dogs potential and will let you know if he feels you have a good candidate, for either a good family hunting dog or a competitive Field Trial dog.

He will train your hunting dog to be family hunting dog who is generally foot handled, or if you have the competitive spirit, he will train your dog for Field Trials, provided your dog has all the necessary attributes needed to be successful in such an endeavor.

In June 2003, David moved his training operation to RoyaleRun Kennel, located in Abbeville, Georgia. He has access to several large areas of land where he trains and has state land usage in Colorado and Kansas, for training.

He has puppy-training programs, intermediate training, and finished bird dog programs.

David King has owned Shorthairs since 1980, bringing one to America that he purchased in England, his former home. He originally started with his dogs in the show ring, but quickly switched to competing in Field Trials. He has lost count but guesses he has obtained over 50 Field Trial Champion titles on his personal dogs and clients dogs over the years. David trains dogs full time, specalizing mostly in Pointing breeds and Flushing breeds and he really doesn�t consider it a job. For those who know him, they know he just loves what he does!

Many of David and Sara�s dogs go home after they have finished their Open Field Championship to be owner handled to finish their Amateur Field Championship.
