About Maier Pheasant Farm
Maier Pheasant Farm is a rustic 240 acre farm set in north central Indiana near Wyatt. The farm was established in 1946 by Marv and Josephine Maier. We have been serving hunters as a preserve since the fall of 1955 and are proud to be noted as Indiana's first and oldest hunting preserve. Our hunting areas look like a place to hunt. Corn fields, wide fence rows, grassy areas and sorghum plots. We have five hunting areas so we can accommodate large corporate groups or small groups. We feel its the nearest thing to wild bird hunting a preserve can offer. Pheasants, chukar and quail are released in our hunting fields. These strong flyers will certainly challenge your shooting skills. You are welcome to use our hunter's cabin before and after each hunt. Maier Pheasant Farm is a great hunting experience. From our hunting fields to our rustic cabin you will find this is a special place. With over five decades of experience in serving hunters, many hunting traditions continue at Maier Pheasant Farm. We invite you to start yours today!

Over the years, I have visited several hunt clubs and shooting preserves throughout the United States. Maier Pheasant Farm is a professionally run operation dedicated to see each hunter has the best hunting experience. The friendly atmosphere and willingness to serve the customer makes each visit satisfying. It can be a wonderful opportunity to spend time bonding with your family. You will leave with a desire to return soon for another hunt.
The cover is very good featuring a combination of sorghum, milo, grasses, woods, fence rows, and corn. You can select various settings to cater to your experience level and shooting ability. These settings will also assist you as you introduce and train your puppy or dog.
If you do not have a dog, you can arrange for a guide with experienced dogs and handling ability. If you have never hunted with a good dog, you should try it at least once. A seasoned hound will search and locate so you will not walk past your birds. Hounds truly offer a beauty to the hunt that cannot be described unless you see it. Especially when there is more than one hound on point and honoring his team mate until you are ready to shoot.
