Re: what are some good beginner dvd'sI like "Training Setters and Continental Breeds" with Sherry Ray Ebert.
Whoever said you can’t buy happiness never had a new puppy!
Re: what are some good beginner dvd'sMy new favorite dog training DVD is "First Steps" by Ben Garcia at Hideaway Kennels. Really good ideas on bird and gun introduction and teaching the dog to be still when birds flush. http://www.hideawaykennels.com/dog-training-videos

Ben lives just down the road from me and I have never looked at his video. I will have to check it out. He is a great guy and a good trainer. Whoever said you can’t buy happiness never had a new puppy!
Re: what are some good beginner dvd'sPerfect Start and Perfect Finish by John and Cindy Hann of Perfection Kennel
http://www.perfectionkennel.com/ I was very skeptical of getting a training video but started my dog with these and after joining a club and learning from other trainers alot of the same info is portrayed in an easy to understand method. It is very low budget as it is basically a home video but don't let that fool you. Check it out if you got $60 per set to spend.
Re: what are some good beginner dvd'sWaterdog is very good and you can get it on amazon for around $20. It's based on a training philosophy of Richard Wolters.
