Flushing Dog Seminar April 2nd & 3rd Delaware

Postby drewsmith » Thu Jan 27, 2011 7:12 am

Todd Agnew of Craney Hill Kennels (IL) will be holding a Flushing Dog Seminar at the Marshtown Preserve, located in Dover Delaware on April 2nd and 3rd (Saturday and Sunday). Todd has been training flushing breeds since 1997 and has successfully competed in trails and tests in both the United States and Canada. He is an Orvis Endorsed Wing Shooting Guide and comes very highly recommended. He works with a full range of hunters and dogs from the inexperienced novice hunter to the more regular upland hunters, from new lab hunters that want to do more upland hunting to the more established spaniel breed hunters.

This seminar is designed in a hands-on, train-the-trainer style to provide a practical start for the hunter and dog in a relaxed format. Training will take place in three different fields of varying cover densities with live birds (150) in realistic hunting scenarios. Concepts will include quartering (hunting close), scent conditions, the flush, handling, sit to flush and the retrieve to get the most from your dog. Space is very limited to ten persons with one dog each and requires prepayment.

The cost is $500 for both days including birds and lunch for both days. Lodging at the Inn at Marshtown is available for the first five guests. Arrangements can be made to board additional dogs overnight but participants are limited to one dog each day. Questions or to register please call Drew Smith at 302-528-1203. The registration deadline is March 1st.
