I have a 2.5 yr old female spayed Boykin Spaniel. On New Year's Day we had a 5 to 7 min. siezure. She was so exicted when my kids showed up for a Birthday party and after she calmed down we went into seizure mode. We took her to Vet and now have medicine to be injected if we have a future event. The vet seemed to think this is a genetic predisposition and this will be a constant throughout her life.
My question....is there good diet or other things I should be doing to hopefully prevent a future seizure?
I have heard of EIS in retriever breeds when they get over worked or very excited. Is this a common thing for Boykins? We had Springers for 25 yrs and never had this problem.
