New Moderator Removing Discussion Threads?

Postby Whispering Hills » Tue Mar 08, 2011 10:42 pm

It appears a 3 page thread was deleted. Why?

I've seen a number of forum sites like this disolve as soon as moderators start censoring open discussion. I hope that doesn't happen to this one.

RangeView, when did you become a moderator? Does that have anything to do with the mixed breed thread being removed?

I think I removed the mixed breed thing last night. Don't try and make it about censorship. I was deleting a lot of stuff in a hurry. It was one of the reported threads. I honestly didn't take time to read any of it. We made RangeView a moderator because he offered to help out, and we needed it. Mostly with the Spam. We've also made it to where new members will have to be approved. Anything using russian or chinese emails or IP addresses won't get to play. Sorry we let the spammers get out of hand.

Don't be sorry, the LAST thing I like to see is a bunch of posts about golf, or the "undesirable" stuff. Moderating/Spam filtering is a thankless job, but someone has to do it. IMO This site is less frequented and a little cleanup will go a long way.

I tried to post a thread to get some help identifying the breed of a rescue dog I just got. Is that not allowed?? Sorry if so, I was just trying to get some help and thought people here would have more knowledge about wiemanarers than I have.
