reloading "Poppers"

Do you have the right gun for the job?

When using blanks or "Poppers" in a shotgun, remember to check the barrel after EVERY round to make sure the wad(if you use one) has cleared the end of the barrel. Autoladers, of course are not a good coice for these type rounds.

Have fun and good luck with the handloads!

Do you have to use the wads? I thought you just did a primer only and leave the shells uncrimped. Maybe there are different ways to create poppers for dog training and gun introduction?

The poppers I have bought just have the primers. The blanks with a full load of powder have the wads.
Whoever said you can’t buy happiness never had a new puppy!

A 209 pimer make a pop by it's own. Use a little of your powder on hand and compress it with a wad and you have a bang. So now we have poppers, blanks and bangers.................have fun with the re-loading and by all means buy a good book on the subject, (Lyman), and be safe.
