Vaginal Hyperplasia in pregnancy.

Postby Ashby Kennels » Mon Nov 08, 2010 5:11 pm

Have you experienced this problem with any of your breedings? I have learned some about this and it generally occurs during heat cycles, but can also occur due to estrogen spikes during the final phases of pregnancy. The later is the case with my dog. Some say this will be an ongoing issue when the dog comes in heat. Some spay the dogs in this case. Some just let it go.

Just wondering if you have experience this and what course of action was taken. Results?

We had 1 pointer female who would swell up like a grapefruit Thankfully she never had an issue with urination but we did end up selling her to a family who had her spayed as every heat cycle she got worse on the swelling

As for my Britts Thankfully no issue
