Brucellosis is a test you want to do, it is a STD that will be the friend to the end if you get my drift. You want to check your dog and the female as well, so neither pass that on. It is cheap. I think I spelled it right. :D Good luck

I would like to comment on how polite everyone who commented on the breeding question was. That is how people learn is by quality advise, not just criticism. How refreshing!! :D

12, yea that seems quite a bit off for a bitch. hey my 12 year old blind bitch that can't walk anymore is giving birth, wana pup. she only runs into the wall when she closes one eye. I get nervous at 7.

Your male should be fine though if your doing all the tests, I comend you for that, too many don't. Good luck

Breeding usually takes place naturally without any human intervention beyond introducing the dam to the stud. However, when one or both of the dogs involved have never been bred before, a little direction may be required.

I will keep both dogs calm during the tie. To avoid injury. Often at tie I will leash the stud to a door knob and just sit in front of the bitch, petting her. It can be painful if they frolic around for her especially. And if she freaks out and bolts, it can be painful to the stud and her, also causing injury. Best to be there for the 15 to 30 minutes.
