Rare opportunity: Chesapeake pup from top bloodlines - Chesapeake Bay Retrievers in Orlean, Virginia - Hope Springs Farm
If you want the best...look no further!
READY TO HUNT NEXT YEAR! We had a cancellation -- Unusual opportunity for male puppy available!
We just had a cancellation for a male puppy for the upcoming Puffin x Rogue litter. These pups combine the pedigrees of the breed's top producers up close due to the age of the parents and has been eagerly anticipated for months. Both parents are titled and direct offspring of the breed's top producing sires.
Our dogs live inside as family members: They hunt, run hunt tests and/or field trials, are very social and non-dog aggressive with other dogs and people. They are solid, correct representations of the breed with correct conformation bred for soundness, stamina, trainability, good work ethic and pleasing personalities. We do not breed dogs with health or disposition problems. We use OFA and CERF tests for hips/elbows and eyes and available genetic tests for DM and PRA as well.
We prefer to sell to working homes: While our dogs make great companions, we believe this breed is happiest in a working environment. If you think a Hope Springs puppy from the Puffin x Rogue litter is what you want, please contact the breeder for detailed pedigree, performance and clearance information.
THE DAM: CH Puffin II JH CD WDX HR (MHR Chestnut Hills Ironwood Oak***MH x Jezebel of the Hollow) Shown above with some of her loot, Puffin is a show champion with hunt test and obedience titles and National Specialty wins and a proven producer of show, field trial and hunt test accomplished dogs. She's the last titled breedable daughter of her sire Woody, a good field trial dog and outstanding producer whose daughters are making their mark as field trial dams. From her dam she brings in the now rare Eastern Shore working bloodlines of the Mount Joy and Native Shore dogs. She is an outstanding physical speciman of an ideal Chesapeake even at age 9. All photos taken within the past month. She's 75 lbs., red-brown, with a coarse, heavy outercoat and thick undercoat and a gorgeous head. She loves to hunt and is fearless even against a giant crippled Canada goose. OFA GOOD, clear annual CERFs, PRA clear & DM tested
THE SIRE: Rogue of Rainbow Farm***MH (DC AFC Gambler's-Dilwyn Stacked Deck MH x Canvasback Gimme the Flyer MH***) Rogue is the only Decks son still standing at stud AND DM clear; his dam, herself a Qualified All Age/Master Hunter, is a daughter of CH AFC Caroway's Wild Goose Chase*** one of the top producing sires of all time. He began his limited field trial career with an open second place at age two. Later, he easily transitioned to hunt tests, passing 6 of 7 Master tests. He's a big, 95-lb. light brown dog with a happy disposition, strong work ethic and very pleasing conformation. OFA Ex, Elbows/CERF/DM & PRA Clear.
THE PUPPIES: Please contact breeder for detailed pedigree/clearance and availabilty information. Expected due date Thanksgiving. We anticipate outstanding looks, trainabilty, talent and athleticism in addition to soundness and longevity. Many satisfied owners of Hope Springs puppies are available as references--see testimonials on breeder's information page.
