Our starting pen is approximately 1 1/2 acres. Brush piles, corn and sorghum strips, native canary grass and areas of mowed grass and clover make up the habitat enjoyed by the resident population of domestic rabbits and cottontails. There are between 12 to 24 rabbits living in the enclosure, definitely enough rabbits to spark any young dog's hunting instinct. There is a good mix of open areas (mowed grass) for sight chases and enough cover for the rabbits to give young dogs the slip and make them use their noses to track the scent.

STARTING PEN PRICE LIST

The starting pen was designed for young Beagles under one year of age, if your dog is over one year old, we have a six acre conditioning pen to accomodate adult Beagles.

All prices include training & lodging. You provide feed or $5 per week additional charge for feed. Dogs must be up to date on vaccinations and be free of parasites (fleas, ticks and worms).

$35 per dog is the minimum charge for starting pen time, whether you bring your pup to our pen for the day, or leave your pup with us for a week.

$125 per month or $35 per week (second dog 10% off)
