Plott/Chesapeake Bay Retriever mix puppies

READY NOW; already swimming, tracking, exposed to gunfire and game; very well socialized around kids, other dogs, horses, etc. This is an accidental litter; the female was a new arrival at our farm and got out in March. Sire is a local Plott hound, young dog just starting to compete and showing great promise. Dam is a working gun dog, Chesapeake Bay Retriever with every possible health clearance: OFA Excellent hips/normal elbows, clear CERF on eyes updated in April, genetically tested for PRA and DM.

We have one male and one female available for modest adoption fee. We think these would make ideal all purpose hunting dogs for any type of game: coons, varmints, ditch tigers, blood trailing and/or birds. Pups are black, heavily coated, and have been regularly wormed at 2, 4 & 6 wks., and had 1st shots. They look like pure hound, but have retriever webbed feet and are already good swimmers. You can win a water race with one of these babies! As well, the Chesapeake is a tough, game breed of retriever so these would be ideal for hogs or bear, but very biddable. Dam herself is very easy going unless the guns come out; then she's all business. She has a flying, dock dog type water entry and is totally non-aggressive to people or other dogs. Pups were imprinted to the whistle as soon as they could hear and come flying to the sound of it. They also already walk on leads and travel well in a dog box.
