We got him out of the truck and away we went. Grady went down the first terrace row and after about 60 to 70 yards he got birdy and walked right into the bird with a very solid point. Head up and looking straight at the grass holding the bird. I flushed the bird and down it went. Grady and I found bird and Grady picked up the bird and brought it to my hand. Very exciting since he is only 8 months old. Three more successful points and two successful retrieves. By the way, the retrieves were to hand and not just up to me and drop and run. Grady is just what you advertised. A very gentle dog in the house and a lion in the field. A great nose, max bird drive and the bonus of retrieving to hand. It was a very impressive morning with a great dog, the great out-of-doors and birds in the bag. I can't tell you how much I appreciate the effort behind the breeding. Can't wait until he is 2. |
