About Sharp Shooters Kennel

Clyde and Marilyn grew up in North Dakota as part of hunting families. Clyde and his brothers trapped fur, hunted deer, waterfowl and upland game from the time he was eight years old. His parent's farm was surrounded by several waterfowl production areas; where every fall Clyde and his hunting dogs spent countless days in search of ducks and geese.
Clyde and Marilyn bought their first hunting dog together in 1990. Mandy was the root of their passion for fine hunting dogs and what started as a hobby quickly progressed into a professional endeavor. They moved the kennel to Illinois in 1993, where Clyde guided at Oakmount Hunt Club and trained members' dogs.
In 1996, Sharp Shooters Kennel took up permanent residence in Wisconsin, just 45 minutes from Minneapolis-St. Paul, MN. Along with training dogs, each year Clyde also holds several training seminars for hunting dog enthusiast groups across the country. Clyde and Marilyn are both Senior Judges and Clinicians for the North American Versatile Hunting Dog Association.
For the past 13 years, Clyde and Marilyn have trained and tested all versatile breeds. Their true specialty is training versatile dogs to perform both in the field and in the water.

I bought Sharpshooters GSP Kurt around 1999from Englehart versatile hunting dogs in Mt Vernon Me. He was @ 2 YO at the time. Kurt was the best looking roaned/ ticed dog I could hope for. Loved to hunt although he was more of a flusher but he pointed too. He lived until he was 14YO. I don’t think I could get a better pointer so I opted for a black lab to fill the void. Should have stuck with a GSP. Live and learn.Great dog! While hunting we encounterd another Sharpshooters GSP named Tina. Nice girl. This was in Norton, Massachusetts.Small world.

We purchased a female GSP puppy in Nov 2013 whose sire is Sharp Shooter's Cash. Morgen is a great female. Very sharp looking with great endurance/drive. She scored the maximum score of 112 in her NAVHDA NA test this Aug. Very intelligent and easy to train pup.
