Sept. of 2012, we were in need of a shorthair male pup (our 11 1/2 yr. old male died of cancer). We checked with River Bottom Kennels and found out Ron had a litter due. We signed up for the pick of the letter. The male pup we got was energetic, quick to learn and follow directions. Ron did bird training with him. He is an excellent hunter, and good retriever. Ron took less training time to get good results than other trainers took to reach the same level of training.
July of 2014, found us in need of a shorthair female pup. Ron had just happened to have another litter. (A litter from the same parents as our 2012 male). We bought the last of the four females. We could not be happier with her. She is full of spirit, quick to figure things out. At 7 weeks of age, she seemed to know "come" already.
Her 2 year old brother took to her immediately, gave her his toys, cuddled with her, even went into her crate, got a rawhide chew, hopped up on our bed where she was, and gave the chew to her.
These two dogs are our 4th & 5th shorthairs. They seem to be the fastest learners of the 5 dogs we've had.
Ron will definitely be training our latest pup.

We purchased our German Shorthair Buck four years ago from Ron and Laura Rabuck. The puppies that are now for sale here on this site are from the sister of our dog. If you are looking for a dog with great temperment, affectionate and an eager hunter you will not be disappointed with this litter if Buck is any indication. These are wonderful dogs from a great blood line. I can't say enough about how trainable and eager to please our dog has been and having known the mother and the father of this new litter as well as the grandmother I can only imagine the quality line continues! Great kennel, good trainer and great family to love on these pups till you come pick one out!
