Norse Retrievers is a full service training and breeding kennel. We specialize in the training of retrieving and flushing breeds for hunting and AKC Hunt Test competitions. We also train all breeds of dogs for obedience and behavior modification. Although we breed American dogs, Norse Retrievers is one of the few training kennels that can train British Labs to do the work that an American hunter expects. Our emphasis is on producing a dog that will be an asset to your family and your hunt. Norse Retrievers gets the owner and dog to work as a team!!!

We breed American Labrador Retrievers for their performance qualities and their great attitude; this does not mean that they are raging beasts. We breed our dogs to be just as pleasant in the house as they are spectacular to watch in the field. The breeding program at Norse Retrievers is simple, produce puppies that have great working ability that are trainable and will be a part of the family. Good looks help too!!! All of the stud dogs that we use are at least AKC Master Hunters or Qualified All Age. For our more high end litters we us AKC Field Champions, because these dogs have proven to be the best working labs in the nation!!! Our females all have Hunt Test titles and hunt all fall in the Midwest. I am a hunter first and a dog lover. If a dog is not outstanding in the field or is not a joy to be with I DON'T breed it. I have two female gundogs and the rest live with families that have them in the house and use them as their fulltime gundogs. So, our breeding stock are not just kennel dogs. Of course Norse Retrievers guarantees hips, eyes, and elbows because that is the right thing to do.

Mark is a great trainer and all of his dogs are remarkable. I have had my dog with Mark on 2 different occasions for over 5 months and it has been money well spent. I now have a great, well trained gun dog that is excellent in the field and wonderful at home.
