![]() About Shadywood Brittanys
All the puppies in the Trixie / Kody litter have been placed. Check back in the Spring of 2010 for a planned breeding for Blu Located 20 miles east of Olympia, in the town of Rainier, WA, Shadywood Brittanys is a small kennel raising quality Brittanys for companionship, show and field. Our dogs are OFA'd for hip displasia and elbows and also have their eyes cleared. After much research on the Brittany I chose this breed for their compact size, friendly disposition, ease of grooming, and willingness to please. Brittanys can be dual champions in the ring and field, can compete in obedience and agility, or settle down at home as easily. I personally enjoy the AKC dog shows and my dogs travel throughout Washington, Oregon and Idaho with me. Competing is a great way to have fun with your dog and meet some wonderful Brittany people. All of our puppies come on contract, with a guarantee for hip displasia. They come with their first set of shots, worming, tails docked and dewclaws removed. Each puppy will be evaluated for conformation, personality, and hunting potential at 7 weeks. Before they go home they will be well socialized, introduced to crate training, and familiar with the grooming table. OUR DOGS CH Wind Mtns Puttin On the Ritz white/orange, OFA Good, elbows normal, eyes cleared. "Trixie" finished her championship at the Rose City Classic Jan 2009 by winning Winners Bitch at the Brittany Specialty and taking Best of Winners the next day. Her first time out as a Special she won Best Opposite Sex at the Timberland Dog Show April 2009. See her picture above winning her 1st Major in Portland OR, Jan. 2009, handled by Connie Strom, the breeder, from Wind Mountin Kennels in Carson, WA. Trixie is a charmer and very loved. Three B's Once In A Blu Moon - aka "Blu", a sweet, fun, orange roan girl who has a personality to please. Blu is OFA Good, elbows normal. With limited showing Blu has a 4 point major. She had her first litter May 2009 and we were extremely pleased with all the puppies. Blu will return to the show ring later this year. Co-owned by Three B's Kennels of Beaver, OR. Shadywood Touch of Gold - "Jay" has been shown in conformation and has earned 10 points but really never enjoyed it so he is currently enjoying hanging out at home. Shadywood To the Max - Max, a liver roan, is an outstanding puppy out of Blu and CH Shadywood's Legends Top Gun. He will be field trained and be shown in AKC conformation classes. Max started his show career Nov. 7. and got Reserve Winner in Salem, OR. Max has really taken to hunting. Over Thanksgiving weekend 2009 he flushed and pointed pheasants at 6 months. He's a natural. Max is field training under the direction of Richard of Tuxedo Kennels. Shadywood Sanbar's Legend Has It - aka Carson - pick puppy out of Trixie/Kody litter - see him in the field and show ring in 2010. Carson has started field training with Richard at Tuxedo Kennels and he is extremely birdy. If you are interested in a puppy e-mail Shadywood2001@hotmail.com for a puppy reservation form. $100. puppy deposit.

Very good looking dog. I constantly receive compliments from other dog owners. Great temperament, great with kids and outstanding his first hunt. He was not on my heels the whole time like most pups. He stayed out in front of me, nose down and never ranged much farther than 20 feet from me at any time unless I was hunting with other people. Outstanding hunter at 6 months of age and i expect nothing but more great hunting from him.Submitted by: Amy on May 07, 2009 I have personally seen these dogs perform in the ring and met the owner and was very impressed. It is very apparent that Sheryl is passionate about improving the Brittany breed and you can see that while talking to her about her dogs. I strongly recommend anyone looking into buying a Brittany to speak to Sheryl first! |
