Bear River Labradors - Utah Labrador Retriever Breeders

We have had retrievers for over 30 years. We began with a wonderful golden, but found that the time picking burrs was about the same as the amount of time we hunted in river bottoms, so we moved on to labs. We now have two, a black named Kota, and our breeding female, Sandstone Sage. Sage is a darker yellow or fox-red and we prefer that coloration for its attractiveness, and because these dogs blend so well into the cattails when hunting.

We are located in Logan in beautiful Cache Valley in northern Utah. We hunt waterfowl in the valley, out in the famous Bear River Refuge and in Idaho. Our upland hunting for pheasants, forest grouse, and sharptails is in the local foothills and Wasatch Mountains.

We hunt the dogs as much as we can get out, but recognize that most hunters will be like us, regarding their dog as much as a pet as an invaluable companion in the field. Consequently, we breed not only for outstanding hunting capabilities, but also for temperament and looks.
