About Antler Mountain Labradors
Antler Labradors has been training Labrador Retrievers to find shed antlers. We have developed a training program that has been proven to work. Thru research on animal behavior and having trained dogs that are successful shed hunters and waterfowl hunters we believe our program is one of the top programs around. We are located in Southern Utah in some of the best mule deer and elk country on the planet.
A dog that has been trained to find antlers works similar to a dog that has been trained to hunt upland game. This generally involves the dog quartering in front at about 25 to 50 yards. While any dog can be trained to do this, the ones that do it the best are usually as a result of selective breeding for those characteristics.
All of the dogs we sell come from proven shed antler hunting lines and have been specifically selected to be not only great antler dogs, but also come from some of the best "field trial" lines available. This means you can hunt waterfowl in the morning and sheds in the afternoon!
We also train breed our dogs to be great waterfowl hunters. All of our dogs hunt antlers as well as waterfowl. You can not find a better well rounded dog than what we have available.
