Annabella Brittany Kennels - Utah American Brittany Breeders

We are a small family run kennel breeding American Brittany hunting dog puppies in rural Utah. Our goal is to raise family companions that excel in finding, pointing and retrieving upland game. Our focus is on breeding quality bird dogs for the active upland hunter or competition home. We believe strongly in the early socialization of puppies so they can be good citizens and family members. In the coming years we hope to build upon the bloodlines of some exceptional dogs of the past, specifically NFC Shambo's Dark Shadow, NFC Microdot, NFC Beans Blaze, NFC Tequila's Joker and NFC Ban Dee lines. As you can see, we like the National Champions. We often have started dogs for sale through our bird dog training program.

Our American Brittanys:

TJ's White Shadow "Sue" In early 2010 we were fortunate enough to get a direct daughter of NFC Shambo's Dark Shadow from Bruce Heiter of Prairie Oaks Kennels. She is double bred NFC DC AFC Tequila's Joker on the bottom. Sue trained with Ben Garcia of Hideaway Kennels in Colorado and is looking forward to pheasant and chukar hunting in Utah. She had her first litter of puppies November 19th, 2010 by FC Light-em Up Luke (Repeating this breeding in 2012). Two of the puppies from the 2010 litter have multiple field trial placements. Sue is OFA Good.

Annabella's Queen Elizabeth "Lizzy" came home to us at 6 weeks old and has been a joy to raise and train. She loves her birds and is a rock solid pointer. She helped guide pheasant hunters and has hunted wild chukar and quail in Utah. In Lizzy's pedigree, her Sire is a dual champion DC Blueridge's Major Adventure and heDam is a Show Champion CH Warbonnet's Clever Bag O'Trix. Lizzy will be having her first litter spring of 2012. Hoping for some truly dual quality puppies. Lizzy is OFA excellent.

Annabella's Sister Suzy "Sis": She is the pick female from our 2010 Sue X Luke litter heavy in field trial bloodlines (Microdot & Beans Blaze). She has been a joy to train and raise and loves her birds. Looking forward to watching her develop. She has her AKC field trial puppy points and took a first place ribbon out of 12 dogs at Skyline Brittany Club in Colorado. Her littermate and full brother "Tucker" has had multiple placements in derby stakes. OFA Pending.

We were referred to Jon by another Brittany breeder and I am so happy that our paths crossed. After speaking with Jon on the phone and emails we put ourselves on a long wait list for a breeding. That didn’t work out for us and we moved to another pairing. We were third on that waitlist for a liver and white female pup. The female had 2 liver and white girls. We were ready to move to another breeding when Jon emailed and told us he would give us his reservation. Being breeders of livestock ourselves we knew how generous that was of Jon. Over the next 6 weeks Jon kept in touch, took pictures and videos of the pups, and worked them on birds. Jon even drove the pups closer to Colorado and then arranged for our girl to hitch a ride with another family buying a pup. I can’t say enough about how nice it was working with Jon. He is easy going, honest, and full of integrity.

We loved Mika the minute we held her in our arms and she has become a wonderful family member. She shows no signs of aggression and fit nicely into our pack of 3 dogs. She loves being outdoors and saying hi to everyone and all animals during her walks. She is especially fond of children. She is also a wonderful guard dog barking at the coyotes, fox, and deer. We realized within days how powerful her nose is and her desire to point/hunt. We took her to a bird intro class a few weeks after arriving and all the other pups were timid with the birds except Mika. She couldn’t wait to work with them. She is continuing her bird training and loves to search and point. We are surprised at the strength of her nose. We call her the piranha when hunting. We have an older Brittney Spaniel who is a great bird hunter but doesn’t compare to Mika.

Mika is a true testament to Jon’s successful breeding program. I would recommend an Annabella pup to anyone looking for a great family and bird dog.

Buddy, born 4/14/2011, has been a smart, easy to train and healthy puppy. He is liver & white. He enjoys long runs along Lake Michigan’s coast daily, no matter what the weather; which can be extreme here in Chicago! His parents are West Mountain Buster and Annabella’s Dreamboat Annie. It was an extra special treat to see both of Buddy’s parents on Jon Lee’s lovely farm bordering Zion National Park. My son and I drove out to see him at 3 weeks and then my daughter and I flew back out to collect him 4 weeks later. The drive back to Il was just so much fun, really!!! It served as a terrific bonding experience for all three of us. I get the same loving question daily from Ross living in AZ and from Jillian who lives in Italy … How’s Buddy ??? … Lots more calls than ever before!

Our pup Trigger has been a great pup to work with. He flew out of the transport cage at 8 weeks with no side effects from the flight. Potty trained after 4 additional weeks. Rides in car, and on 4 wheeler at 12 weeks. Strong desire to please. Pointing at 12 weeks, and is a joy to work with on the training table in basement. Beats me down the steps to learn. Adjusted immediatley to 10 month old grand daughter and they are now entertaining one another.
Easily, the easiest hunting dog I have had to train, and exceptional personality(Smart dog) I would highly recommend the Annabella Kennels for a Brittany.

Thanks, Jon for such a wonderful puppy. Cody has quickly become a member of our family…can’t imagine not having her as a part of our lives. She’s smart, affectionate, full of energy, curious, loves kids, and is even comfortable in a crowd. Can’t wait for her to experience some local birds. She has Buster’s long legs and the softest, silkiest coat. She’s going to grow into a beautiful dog!

I had a male Brittany for over twelve years and lost him last May. I started searching Brittanys after moving to Utah and found Jon Lee. He was awesome from the beginning! Our little Saige, aka Annabella's Sweet Artemisia, (out of Buster x Annie, 11/9/11) is a doll! I now know there are some personality traits that are all Brittany. Smart, fun-loving, active and affectionate. We may be seeing Jon in a couple of years for another one.

We found our liver spotted Java online and purchased her late last year. We are extremely happy that this energetic, lovable rascal is now part of our family. Jon was very helpful, open and great to work with. We're quite happy.

Bella - Annie X Buster 2009 Litter

Took 2 year old Bella pheasant hunting this weekend. She pointed and retrieved 5 for 6 today. The last one was a runner and she got him up in front of my son, he shot it and found her with the rooster pinned to the ground with both front feet. She is a natural.

Jon was awesome from the beginning when I first contacted him, to selecting the right puppy for my/family needs. He even went out of his way to meet me with Ruby. And even now a year later, if I have any questions or we just want to share some pics or Video of Ruby. I didn’t train Ruby as a bird dog but as a Fly Fishing dog and she is perfectly healthy, unbelievably athletic, happy, well tempered, and a total water dog which was a bonus for a Brittany. I highly recommend Jon and his operation…

We purchased one of Annie & Buster’s puppies in June 2011. He is a great dog, well socialized, a wonderful companion and family dog, and at 6 months old he is already pointing and has 5 Rough Grouse to his credit!! He is also beautiful, orange/white w/ tons of freckles . Just what we wanted. Kenai looks a lot like his mother, Annie. We will definitely be purchasing another Brittany (from Annabella Kennels) within the next couple of years.
