TEXAS TRACE KENNEL - The Texas home of Boykin Spaniels. Our goal is to breed champion hunters with a household loving personality. We are conscientious breeders, breeding only to enhance the Boykin Spaniel breed. We breed first and foremost for hunting qualities. We breed only occasionally and we only do so in an effort to advance the breed, to further the hunting instincts of the breed and with a focus on improving the health of the breed. We have the greatest respect for breeders who breed with a conscience. And we commend those breeders who give back to the Boykin as much as they get -- as evidenced by their kennel, their dogs, their knowledge of the breed, the standards they advocate and adhere to, their commitment to improve the health of the breed and their preservation of the hunting instincts of the Boykin Spaniel.

I got my pup Clementine for Texas Trace about two years ago. She came from the litter of Star and Midnight. She has the best temperment and is as healthy as can be. I never had any problems with her. I sent her to Doug Growden in Katy to train her. He trained Diesel, another Texas Trace dog, and legendary hunting dog. Clementine is now bird dog when I need her to be, and a spoiled princess when we are at the house. I couldn't have picked a better breed for me, or a better breeder to get her from.

Jaeger-Boykin Spaniel-8 years old
I am fortunate to have Jaeger under my care and I have worked with many hunting dogs over the years but none with the tenacity and enthusiasm that Jaeger displays. There is no quit whatsoever in this dog and i have to make sure he doesn't overwork himself. Most dogs seem to be declining at 8 years old while a Boykin Spaniel seems to be just hitting theri stride. Excellent breed and phenominal field working dog. Anyone looking for the best of both worlds for hunting and home/house dog should investigate the Boykin Breed before making a decision, and I highly recommend contacting Texas Trace as you will not find a better experinece anywhere.

Texas Trace has proven to be an honest and reputable Boykin Spaniel breeder. Texas Trace is interested in the well being of their puppies and the happiness of their customers. My Texas Trace Boykin is everything, and more, that I expected in terms of temperment, natural ability, intelligence, and beauty. Texas Trace investments their personal time, efforts and interests to facilitate a good match for both puppy and person. Training days offer owners and potential owners opportunities to see both young and proven dogs work on live quail under real conditions. Overall experience has been excellent with both Texas Trace owners and Texas Trace Boykins.

I would like to attest to the excellence of Texas Trace Kennel. After the initial question, "What's a Boykin?", my research led me to seek out Texas Trace Kennel. My wife and I were welcomed at Texas Trace by owner, Greg Copeland and spent several hours with him. We asked countless questions, which Greg graciously answered. He took the time to educate us on Boykins. We also enjoyed spending time with each of his dogs and watched them work. Texas Trace worked with us to get a good match of the personality and traits we were hoping for in a pup and I must say they were spot on. At 7 1/2 weeks old, we were able to pick up our new pup. We enjoy our now 4 month old Boykin, Briley immensely. She is showing excellent hunting abilities with a very strong drive to hunt. She has the natural ability to retrieve on land or water. She has been shot over during training and has absolutely no fear of gun fire. I believe this is in large part due to Texas Trace's training of the pups from near birth. I strongly encourage anyone looking for a four-legged hunting companion to give Texas Trace a call.

I have known Texas Trace for about a year now and I think they are by far the best breeders I have ever seen. I have witnessed the raising of the pups and they treat their pups like one of their children. Healthy puppy diets and health checks are very important to these breeders. I enjoy being mentored by them for future hunt tests and I appreciate their respect and love for the

I recently got a puppy from Texas Trace. He is now 16 weeks old and is doing very well. He is extremely birdy and shows a strong desire to retrieve. In fact he is doing 10 yard water retrieves already. He loves the water. Texas Trace is a stand up operation I will get my next Boykin from them as well.

We recently purchased our Boykin Spaniel puppy from Texas Trace. From the 1st visit until we got our puppy was very pleasurable. Our Puppy was taken great care of and even had begun her 1st training phase of potty training and responding to a dog whistle. Our puppy was set up for a great transition and has been a great addition to our family. I would and have recommended Texas Trace to our friends.

I highly recommend Texas Trace. We lost our dog in January and I told my wife we need to look at the Boykins since I have a friend that has one and I was impressed how smart they were. We contacted Ginger and arranged a visit to check out the puppies that were ready for the owners to pick up. i knew my wife would fall in love with the pups and she did. There were older dogs there, male and female, and they all exhibited that friendly, eager to please attitude that is a Boykin trait. We were fortunate enough to be able to adopt Ginger's personal dog and she is now the love of our live. We worked with Ginger on getting the kind of pup we want and hopefully she will be with us soon. You can't go wrong using Texas Trace, they aim to please. Ginger, Greg and Roslyn are only looking to promote the breed and bred selectively and produce the best dog possible.
