I have owned two wonderful dogs from Millercreek, both females and both the " runt " of the litter. The first was a yellow in the 90's. Easiest dog ever. Hunted splendidly for 12 years. We called her Sunny and she truly was.
The dog in my house now is Scout. She is 2 1/2. She is a piece of work. Right now she is bringing me a candy wrapper and expecting me to throw it. She steals tools , hoses , sledge hammers, screw drivers, spatulas , glasses, tooth brushes, shoes, and what ever it is you can't find. However, put the game bag on, then it's all business.
I trained both these dogs and both were easy, although Scout is somewhat smarter than I and knows it.
We are in our second bird season now and she , like her predecessor is a delight to hunt with. When I miss a bird she retrieves the wad ?! Anyone else ever experienced this ?
I ramble on here , but more to the point, Millercreek Kennels has provided two outstanding buddies and hunting companies. I wish I could have 5 of them.

We purchased a Chocolate Lab(Austin) from them. He lived out a great life with us and passed away just recently(16 years). While living in Houston we did not trust our dogs to anyone else when we need to board them. We would drive from Houston to Somerville We also had Austin and Mable(Black Lab) trained by Carrol, and our dogs were so much the better for this. We love the Millers and what they do and did for our dogs, we only wish they lived in Colorado as that is where we reside
now.

My first dog as an adult was a yellow female from Millercreek in January of 1991! I was an engaged college student at TAMU. "Honey" was the sweetest, smartest, most loyal companion, not to mention our first child. She was always my keeper. Near the end of my fourth pregnancy, she was 13 years old and showing her age for the very first time. I was too pregnant and too emotional to put her down. I actually prayed that she would get to go quietly in her sleep. When I left to go have the baby my husband said she stopped eating. A few days later we came home. She looked so happy and relieved to have me and the baby back safely. She sniffed his head and gave him tender kisses. That night, my prayer was answered and she went quietly in her sleep. She had done a good job, watched over me to the end and saw me safely home with one last baby. She was ready to rest. Good girl, Honey! The Millers don't just breed dogs, they breed best friends. I am beyond happy to report that we came home just two days ago with puppy number 2 from Millercreek! We've named her Summer and though she is following in some mighty big paw tracks, I am confident that she will make her own mark on our hearts. Thank you Carroll and Joanie!

We have had 3 labs from Miller Creek Kennels and they had all been excellent field retriever and companion water dogs. I was originally referred to the Millers by a colleague of mine from Houston who was an avid hunter and we have not been disappointed by the quality of the these animals. The Miller's puppies are exceptional as are the care they receive after before and after whelping. These folks know their dogs and are truly dedicated to producing outstanding individuals of this breed.

Having never hunted or had a dog I met the Miller's when my fiance bought a pup 'Shade' from them in 1984. He was trained by Carroll and achieved a Sr. Hunter title. He was a great pet and hunting partner. After his passing we purchased a great-granddaughter of the dog pictured on their website (Millercreek's Yellow Bear). Her name was 'Dazzle'. Carroll got a Master Hunting title on Dazzle. She was not only a great hunter but also my best friend. I now have Heidi. Carroll achieved not only a Master Hunter title and a Hunting Retriever Champion title with her but an Upland Hunter title as well. Heidi is the most lovable dog imaginable and is nicknamed 'the nudge' as she always wants to be petted. She has picked up 100's and 100's of birds from Sandhills down to dove while hunting with me and my hunting friends and has been somewhat an embarrassment to other hunters who had brought their dogs for the hunt. I, though, get to puff out my chest. She is now approaching 11 and shows no signs of slowing down. Her willingness and desire have led many more people to Millercreek Kennels for their next pup or training. They are absolutely wonderful people and have become family over the last 26yrs of my life. You cannot go wrong with Millercreek Kennels.

I have had the pleasure of doing business with Miller Creek Kennels for the last ten years. Their experience and assistance has been very valuable to me when making decisions on purchasing, breeding or training labrador retrievers. I always start with them when I have question about gun dogs. You will not be disappointed in doing business with Miller Creek.

Over the last 18 years, we have had eight of our Labrador retrievers gun-dog and hunt-test trained by Carroll Miller at Millercreek Kennels. The results in every case exceeded our expectations. The dogs not only achieved the award levels we expected of them, including a national win ?? by Toby, but the training carried over when the dogs returned to us. They handled as well for us as they did for Mr. Miller. Most importantly to us, notwithstanding the rigors of the training program, Mr. Miller, in demanding their best efforts, handled the dogs at all times with kindness and tranquillity and with an abiding respect for their dignity. In my opinion, there is no better trainer.

My wife and I have the utmost respect and admiration for the Miller's. We bought our first field-trial lab in 1999 as a seven week old pup from Joannie Miller. 'Smoke' has been a fabulous dog...Sr.Hunter with 2-Master Passes. Unfortunately, I stopped competiting with him and did not finish his Master-Hunter Title. I used him as a hunting dog for many year and he is now retired, living at home. We purchased a girl from Joannie named Jade JH. who has also been a wonderful hunting dog. After all these years, I continue to be very close to Joannie & Carrol Miller; they have trained several dogs for us and they currently have a daughter of Smoke being trained by Carrol. I could not think of giving anyone else a more glowing endorsement than these fine, honest people. If you want a REAL hunting dog with no problems, these are the folks to go to. They are 'true guardians' of the breed. They will not only provide you with a great dog for you and your family but, they will be there for you with anything you need. They are THE BEST!

I have two incredible Labradors from the Millers. They are everything I want in a Labrador, intelligent, strong, beautiful and loving. They are both enrolled in "boot camp" or obedience training at the moment and I have high hopes for them as they progress into gundog training. The love, care and support the Millers give to all of their dogs {and their dogs' owners} from puppyhood through training and then breeding is unsurpassed by any operation I have ever seen. Their kennels are spotless, their dogs are happy and healthy and I would not hesitate to recommend the Millers to the most discerning of dog owners. If you are looking for a Labrador Retriever for hunting or for a family companion, look no further than Millercreek Kennels.
