About Big Oaks KennelWe train and sell German Shorthaired Pointers and Pointers. Our Shorthairs originated out of the Udibar line. Our pointers are primarily out of the Elhew line. We guide quail hunters in South and West Texas off a vehicle so we require dogs with a relativly good range and terrific stamina. Our dogs are well socialized and respond well to voice and whistle. Most retreive and hunt dead. Our training grounds includes: a three acre field at the kennel for yard work, including obedience, whoa, quartering, honoring, trained retreive, marking, hunt dead, and pointing, and ranches near our kennel for field work on liberated birds. We train on ranches in South and West Texas during the hunting season on wild quail.
