Wei-me Kennels - Pennsylvania Weimaraner Breeders

We are private hobby enthusiasts /breeders who are totally devoted to breeding exceptional Weimaraners. Our puppies are bred for their great temperament, and for their excellent hunting abilities. The sire of our litters was a paid guide dog at 5 months old. A licenced veterinarian will dock their tails, remove their dew claws, micro chip them, make sure they are current on their vaccinations, and worm them. They are family raised in our home and well socialized. We use the bio sensor program and start them for hunting. At approximately 4 weeks old a blank gun is shot at a great distance from the pups as they are being nursed. This technique is non-stressful to the pups and has brought excellent results in raising well-rounded dogs adapting to new environments, situations and sounds. A week later the puppies naturally play at retrieving objects like small bird wings. The blank gun is still being shot on a daily basis gradually moving closer to them. Puppies are introduced to pheasant feathers on the end of a fishing pole.  We also put them on live chuckers or quail. Most of our puppies are sight pointing by 6 weeks.
