About Ward's Irish Red and White Setters
Welcome to Ward's Irish Red and White Setters. We have been raising Red and White Setters for 12 years for field work, selectively breeding for outstanding temperament, adhering to the breed standard while maintaining the natural hunting instinct of this wonderful breed. Our litters are home raised and socialized. This breed has an extremely strong hunting instinct, has phenomenal endurance and is very athletic. Hunters prefer the Irish Red and White Setter because they have excellent noses and their coats stand out against the field brush. They make a very versatile and loyal hunting companion while eager to learn and please their owners. Affectionate, friendly, gentle and loving they adapt easily to your home and family. They are wonderful with other dogs and children. Males are typically 55 to 65 lbs, females 45 to 55 lbs. We strive to have our pups be a wonderful addition to your hunt, home and family.

Submitted by: Timothy Oriss PhD on Jul 01, 2008We are the proud family of the lone female from the Ward's summer 2007 litter. While we are not hunters and thus cannot comment on her gun dog capabilities directly, she is a highly intelligent, active, and healthy animal. We worked with a good friend who is an accomplished show dog trainer, and our dog completed basic to mid-level obedience training in record time. We have been told that she would be an excellent candidate for advanced training should we ever desire to do so. We also have the good fortune to live in the same neighborhood as the Wards' and can attest to the high quality of care they provide to their dogs. The Irish Red and White Setter is a tremendous breed, and the Ward's are outstanding guardians of these fine dogs.
Submitted by: Ashley on Jun 21, 2008Last year we got our pup from Ward Kennel, hes now almost a year old. He has been a wonderful addition to our house and family. The picture shown is our pup pointing his first Quail. When we got him, he was already house broken and very well behaved. We love him very much!! I highly recommend Ward Kennel and the Irish Red and White Setter breed!
