Responsible owners should remember however that this dog was bred primarily for hunting purposes and as such, will have a high level of activity and energy that needs to be directed. We personally have trained our German Shorthaired Pointers to pull sleds during the winter as a way for them to train and have fun. German Shorthaired Pointers are friendly, intelligent, and willing to please. They are a wonderful companion and do best when included as part of a family.
