After numerous phone calls and conversations with breeders around the country we decided on Crystal Kennels. Our decision was based on Judy's dedication to the breed. You can find a Crystal Kennel Pup in the Show or Obedience Ring, and next week see that same dog at a Hunt Test, Field Trial or at a NAVHDA event. Our first Crystal Kennel Pup was Chase who will be six next month. I spoke to Judy once the litter hit the ground. Told her what I was looking and asked her to pick the pup for me. She did a great job. Chase is a beautiful male with a great temperment. He has his Master Hunter,CGC,and Retrieving Dog titles. He has also had three placements in Field Trials. His new mission is to help train Misty our seven month old puppy that we recieved from Crystal Kennels in June. She, like Chase, is a beautiful Pup and already has shown great promise in the Field and Judy will be evaluating her for the Show Ring. So, in closing, if you're a first time owner or an experiecned handler you can't go wrong with a Dog from Crystal Kennels. As always hope to see you afield !!!! Submitted by: richard bailey on Feb 06, 2008 Approximately two and a half years ago I found myself lucky enough to be on the receiving end of a Crystal Kennel pup that emulates exactly what Judy Ziegler strives for; a sound temperament and well structured with beautiful pointing instinct. I brought the little guy home at about 9 weeks and immediately knew I had the foundation for what will unequivocally be a phenomenal hunting partner. I have managed to achieve AKC Senior Hunter status along with 2 third place Amateur Field Trial ribbons and without dispute I owe most, if not all of my accomplishments to the dedication and patience Judy and Andy have demonstrated over the past years. Crystal Kennels in my opinion is far more than a Kennel; it is a warm loving home in which beautiful German shorthairs are bred, raised and properly trained. Their motto should simply be "we train with love and plenty of treats."Submitted by: Beth Harless on Feb 03, 2008 When I started looking for a German Shorthair, I happened to see a dog in our area (the Southeast) who was bred by Judy Zeigler (of New York). I was very impressed with this dog who went from the breed ring to the obedience ring at the same show and according to the catalog, was also accomplished in the field as well. I placed a phone call to Judy and as they say, "the rest is history". Judy has been a wonderful mentor to me over the last four years. She has helped me become involved in AKC hunt tests, NAVHDA and conformation - all of them firsts for me. I now have a second Crystal son and couldn't be more proud of all the doors that she has opened for me. Without Judy's encouragement, I would spend a lot more weekends at home and wouldn't have the "dog friends" that I have. I highly recommend Crystal Kennels for your next Shorthair, she'll be there for you and with you.Submitted by: James Gould on Feb 02, 2008 The first dog was smart, easy to train, and great drive. The temperment and body are solid. Just think, we had to get another three years later.I have owned six other pointing dogs, but I have more faith in the ability of these GSP's from Crystal Kennels than all my previous dogs. The natual switch from bird to fur and back to ducks makes the time in the field fun. Now I hunt to take the dogs out not to just hunt.Submitted by: Rayanne Lehman on Feb 01, 2008 Our family has received six GSPs from Crystal Kennels and I would not hesitate to recommend them. The dogs are correct conformation, great in obedience, and most importantly fantastic hunters. Owner has personally trained three of our dogs for hunting and done a great job. We are sending another young dog to them in spring. The dogs are extremely well cared for while at the facility.Submitted by: Lori Bielawa on Feb 01, 2008 I'm on my 2nd GSP from Crystal Kennels. I loved my first one so much, I couldn't help but go back for seconds. Funny thing is that I considered Hannah my once-in-a-lifetime dog. A friend just met Riva and said, "looks like you have your once-in-a-lifetime dog." I do believe I'm in for another great ride. |
