Submitted by: Meg Meade on Jan 19, 2010I found out about some litters that Legacy had available through my friend Terri Marinier, and decided to get a pup after my 13-year-old English Setter died. Man, am I impressed! Jaeger is only 6 -1/2 months old, but has got to be the smartest pup I've ever seen. He's not only great at finding birds, but he points, backs, and retrieves naturally. To top it off, he is also a great house pet: very affectionate, extremely easy to train and willing to please, and after only 3 sessions has outshined the other (older) dogs in his obedience classes. He will certainly serve my family well both in the field and just hanging out.
Submitted by: Bruce Anderson, "Finishing Touch Bird Dog Tra on Mar 23, 2008I have known, competeted, and hunted with Norm for many years. I have also trained many of dogs that he has produced, and trialed. Norms "Legacy Kennels", are first rate in all categories. His dogs are of the finest quality, and Norm is of utmost itegrity.
I can STRONGLY recommend "Legacy Kennels", if you are looking for the highest quality Shorthair pup.
Submitted by: Ron McDaniel on Mar 12, 2008I had the fortunate opportunity to hunt with Norm and the dogs of Legacy Kennels for 3 days on open land/wild birds. Norm?s dogs were an absolute pleasure to hunt with, they are under control, obedient, honor naturally, retrieve and don't have to be handled constantly. The dogs were a pleasure to be around and were obviously very biddable (in addition Norm is one heck of a trainer).
Norm?s kennels are remarkably clean, safe and temperature controlled. I would not hesitate to kennel my dogs or leave a dog with Legacy kennels for training at all. My next Short hair will certainly have a Legacy Lineage!
Submitted by: Steve Tonkin on Mar 07, 2008I've known Norm for about 25 years. Even if I knew nothing about his dogs, I'd buy from him just because I know what kind of person he is. The dogs he's turning and the way he does business out are just what I would have expected.
My particular dog, Zeke, has been all I could have asked for. Friendly, affectionate, hard working, intelligent, natural pointer and backer, and a very good nose. I have pictures of him at four months of age naturally backing his older brother (another great dog), as well as on point on wild birds - both quail and pheasants.
You won't go wrong buying a dog from Norm.
Submitted by: Terri Marinier on Mar 06, 2008I travel across the U.S. giving seminars on training Hunting Dogs so I am able to see many breeds of pointing dogs and meet breeders. My next pup for demos/trials and house pet will be a "Legacy" pup. I have been to Norm's place many time, hunted with his dogs and have had pups from his breedings attend my seminars and am so impressed. From folks who want just a weekend hunting buddy, family pet or hard hitting trial dog Norms dogs can fit the bill. I'm excited and soon will have one of Norm's dogs of my own!
Submitted by: Michael McMullan on Mar 04, 2008Norm and his dogs are a pleasure to hunt with. No yelling or constant whistling, his dogs just go about their business finding birds and holding them. The dogs appear to be very cooperative, natural backers, and did a fine job after the shot.
From viewing his clean kennels and the condtioning of his dogs, it is clear to me that Norm puts a lot of effort into selecting and maintaining a fine line of shorthairs. I would highly recommend his kennel if you are looking for a personal gundog or a foot Trial dog.
Submitted by: Kay F. Brown on Mar 04, 2008Norm is an excellent Dog Breeder and handler. He has an awesome kennel set up and produces wonderful dogs! My son and I have dogs from the same litter. They are excellent hunters, and very special family dogs. I always recommend Legacy Kennels to anyone who inquires! Hope he continues his good work.
Submitted by: Mike Weis on Feb 13, 2008Norm represents what every kennel should be. Honesty and integrity to breed quality gundogs to meet the hunter/foot trialers needs. I have hunted and trialed with Norm personally and recommend him for your gunddog business. He has followed up in every transaction that we have been in.
