Submitted by: Joann McDermott on Jun 13, 2013We got our sweet Miss Ellie from Fur and Feathers Kennel we drove across half the State of Nebraska for her and are so glad we did! Cheryl was great to work with and it was obvious she has great affection for her animals.
I will most definitely recommend her Kennel for anyone looking for a pup.
Submitted by: Brenda Metz on Apr 23, 2013We got our Black Lab "Kamp" from Cheryl at 6-weeks old. When we got our puppy, Cheryl had already began socializing and working with him on House training and some obiedence training. At seven weeks he was fully house broke; is well behaved and is being trained to be a hunting dog. He is already retrieving back to the trainer, is kennel broke and listens to most commands. We are very pleased with our puppy and would purchase another puppy from Fur and Feather Kennel. He will be going back to Fur and Feather Kennel to be trained for competition hunting.
Submitted by: Crystal Schmidt on Apr 22, 2013We recently bought a chocolate lab puppy from Cheryl and are extremely pleased with our puppy. Tilly has been great since the day we brought her home. We had decided to get a chocolate lab for our one year old daughter and with Tilly we feel that it was the best decision we could have made in finding that perfect dog to fit our family. Her and our daughter are inseperatable and are great playmates. Tilly is extremely smart and great tempered. She gets along great with other dogs as well as other people. Tilly has a great personality and as being our first dog that we trained ourselves we couldn't be more happy. Cheryl has been absolutely amazing with helping us in any way possible. Our overall experience with Fur & Feathers Kennel has been awesome and would definitely recommend all the services Cheryl offers.

Submitted by: Gena Karr on Aug 17, 2012I have known who Cheryl is for many years through horse 4H. Last summer, 2011, a mutual friend invited both of us on a trail ride where I got to know Cheryl and her daughter on a much more personal level. I not only got to observe Cheryl being a wonderful mother to her very mature and polite 15 year old daughter but also observed her working with a young horse and was very impressed. When we parted ways Cheryl gave me her card, told me she raised and trained dogs and if we ever needed anything to please give her a call. I didn’t think much of it at the time. Our wonderful chocolate Lab Gus had passed and my husband had a new yellow Lab, Tex, who was doing very well.
That November I let Tex out one morning, took the kids to school (we were running late so I didn’t take the time to lock him up) When I came back he was nowhere to be found! We looked for two days then I got a call from the sheriff that there was a yellow lab down the road from our house that had just been hit by a car. I felt horrible!!
After Christmas my husband and son started talking about getting another dog. By this time I had ridden with Cheryl many times and knew she was someone I liked and could trust. I also figured if she can do so well with kids and horses imagine what she could do with a dog!! I gave her a call, told her the story and she said she had the perfect pup for us. She came over that very day with the pup and my boys fell in love! Our new dogs name was Hoyt!!
Fortunately for us but unfortunately for Hoyt my husband got very busy with work and didn’t have the time to devote to him that he needed. The dog was driving me crazy! He was wild, wouldn’t listen and barked all the time!! I was not liking Hoyt or my husband very much at this point. I finally said you have to do something with YOUR dog!!! By this time he was 8 months old and I thought hopeless but again I gave Cheryl a call. She said bring him over and she told us how well Hoyts full sister was doing. All I could think was, well she must have gotten all the brains in the family and I wished her good luck with Hoyt!!
Hoyt had been in training less than 30 days and Cheryl had been giving us updates but I had not seen him in action so we decided to pay them a visit. The minute she got him out I could see he was a totally different dog behavior wise!! He hung on her every word!! Then she demonstrated his retrieving ability and WOW!! He wouldn’t bring a ball back more than twice at home without something else catching his attention. I think what impressed me more than anything though was Hoyt was happy and enjoying his new job!! It was like he was begging Cheryl to throw the bird just one more time but yet if she threw it he wouldn’t go till she told him to.
Hoyt is going into his second month with Cheryl. I know she has him working in the field now and she said he is doing wonderful. I love that she keeps us updated and even sends us pictures. I can’t wait to visit again and see his progress! We couldn’t be happier!! Thank you so much Cheryl! We are thoroughly impressed with you and Fur and Feathers Kennels!!

Submitted by: Andy Jarecki on Aug 02, 2012I'd like to give a specail thanks to Cheryl at Fur and Feather Kennels. She has made my dog a retrieving machine. I plan on doing more business with her not only is she great at what she does but absolutly affordable.
Submitted by: Tom on Mar 16, 2012Cheryl trained my black lab Rosie and did a wonderful job. Rosie works well in the field. She stays with gun range but will also make long retrieves. Because of Rosie my 2011 pheasant season has been my best in years. On top of being good in the field Rosie is also a pleasure to have in the house witch makes my wife very happy. Cheryl is a skilled trainer and a pleasure to do business with. I would recommend Cheryl for your next hunting dog.
