Our goal through selective breeding is to develop dogs that are great family dogs as well as superb hunters of upland game, waterfowl and trackers of wounded game, both feathered and furred. The Deutsch Drahthaar was originally developed in Germany 70+ years ago as a versatile hunter able to adapt to all hunting needs, and to minimize the loss of wounded game.
