Jan sent my boy Cheddar to me in Anchorage in 2006. He was a family dog, we didn’t hunt with him, but he pointed all kinds of birds and, once, a dachshund! Half his lift was spent in Alaska, the last half in southern Oregon. He was the best, and I miss him every day.

I drove 650 miles to setter hills to pickup my pup in Aug.2007. There were only 2 pups left in the litter and one was for Jan. I did not really like the looks of the one that was left , so Jan let me have the beautiful little girl that she had picked for herself. I named her Bee and she is so perfectly marked. at 12 years of age she still hunts quite a bit but has slowed down a little. I will sure buy another pinecoble setter from Jan Turner again.

I've had setters for most of my life and Ole Hemlocks are the best for me. I got a pup at about 7 weeks old from Setter Hills. My Abbey never ceases to amaze me. She will be 8 in September. She has a good nose, nice conformation, great desire to hunt and an even greater desire to please. Her pace is just right for hunting on foot. She started pointing and holding birds at 12 months. She is a fine hunter, and an even better companion. She shows a remarkable ability to communicate and is very affectionate. She even retrieves in water--she loves to swim and play in the water.

I wish I could say that she is everything I trained her to be, but the truth is all I did was teach her a few words and a few commands, and just showed her that I love her. Everything else she figured out on her own.

If I had a dollar for every time someone commented on what a beautiful dog she is, well, then I would have several more Setter Hills dogs!

I can't speak highly enough of my experience with Setter Hills. Jan bred a fine dog for me.

Our tricolor Setter Maggie has been a wonderful family dog and also a terrific grouse and woodcock dog the past eight years.

Our initial professional trainer said she had the best nose and was one of the most biddable dogs he's ever worked with.

Her hunting results sure proved that to be true!

We got a 3 years old in 2011 from Jan and she has been the best dog ever.
