About Inverness Gordon Setters

Our main goal at Inverness Gordon Setters is to better the breed that we have come to
love. We do this by ensuring we are producing a dog that hunts for the gun and is a
pleasure to live with the rest of the time. We evaulate both sides for desireable and
undesireable traits to make sure only the best come out in our pups. We expect our
dogs to have a rock solid point and to be a rocket in the field. We also want a friendly
well socialized dog. When we come home in the evening after a long day hunting or
working we want our dogs to hang out with us in the yard or in the house curled up by
us on the sofa. Our Gordons have an eagerness to please, are very quick to learn, and
are joy to have as a family pet and hunting companion.

Our Gordon Setters are always working, whether out hunting during the season for grouse,
pheasant,or the annual trip for quail in Oklahoma, we also compete in some NBDCA events and AKC hunt tests having success in both. Our Gordon Setters, Charlie and Will, can be seen this coming year at these events as well as a new series in Minnesota, the Midwest Upland Gundog Series. We are also very excited this year to be able to make some additional trips to some new destinations to hunt wild birds this year. We will be adding visits to eastern Montana and southwestern Kansas to our expected trips to the Dakotas and Oklahoma. If you are in these areas and would like to see some hard working Gordon Setters in action please contact us and hopefully we can make some arrangements to make that possible.

We know that there are many different breeds that are all great dogs, but think that if you take a
look at the Gordon Setter you quickly come to love them as much as we do.

As a professional dog trainer, I look for certain traits in dogs. Natural ability, boldness and socialization are very important. While training both Charlie and Will, I witnessed these traits, so when Kent said he was going to breed the two, I told him "I want a pup from them". Sky is one of the most social dogs I?ve seen. Her natural ability and desire are out of this world, she is BIRD CRAZY. With some training along with maturing, she will develop into a companion/hunting dog that will leave a mark in the birddog world. Kent, thanks for such a great dog.
