I purchased my llewellen Setter named Ace from them about five months ago. I really wsnted any one who is interested in this breed, that this whole experience from intial contact about the kennel, to keeping me informed on every step, to advise after I have the puppy, really couldn't be any better. Ace came from Amber and King. I have never had such a eager and willing to please puppy in my life. His bird eagerness, and natural huning abilities are better than I could have ever imagined. I really wanted to thank them by writing this and tell everyone that it is worth your while to contact them for one of their dogs or training needs.

I highly recommend High Fly’n Kennels based on my experiences with Greg and Carla Fryar. I have a Llewellin from a different breeder that I took to Greg for “intro to bird & gun” training. Greg and Carla were extremely helpful and friendly as we scheduled the training time, during the training, and even afterward whenever I had any questions or needed advice. They are good people, in addition to being good breeders and trainers.

Here’s an example of their kindness & generosity: I had originally arranged to purchase my Llewellin from them but, because of timing, chose a pup from another breeder in a different state. When I let Greg and Carla know, they said they knew the other breeder, were going to be seeing them at an upcoming competition, and offered to transport my pup for me – from several hundred miles away!

I will not hesitate to take my dog back for further training if needed, and I would love to get my next Llewellin from them when the time comes.

I own a Llewellin Setter that I purchased from Greg and Carla. Our dog, Shelby was a happy, healthy puppy when we brought her home 4 years ago. Now, she is a fully grown, bird finding machine that has handled 7 different species of upland birds in a variety of cover conditions with poise and confidence. If you are looking for quality Llewellin Setter puppies, a started dog or want to have your dog (any breed)trained, I recommend High Flyn Kennels. I have offered Greg and Carla my personal phone number if you would like to call me directly.

Greg Fryar has trained two of our field goldens for both hunting and AKC tests. He knows his stuff when it comes to training both flushers and pointers. My wife and I were impressed in that Greg spends time bonding with each dog prior to starting the training process.

Our dogs are excited to see Greg whether it be during the hunting season, out at Game Fair or at a hunt test- a sure testimonial that they enjoyed time spent at Greg's kennel!

I had my Vizsla trained by Greg and can't think of a bad thing to say about the experience. The facility is very clean and well equipped. My dog came back after 3 months happy, healthy and a better hunter than I had expected. I would and do recommend HFK to anyone looking to have there dog trained. I have now enjoyed 3 seasons of pheasant hunting with my dog and it is such a joy. Thanks Greg and Carla.

I picked up Lily, my Llewellin Setter, from Greg and Carla late last winter. Lily had actually been returned to HFK, but I was interested in trying a started dog. Greg provided initial bird training for Lily. I picked her up at about 8 months of age, and she was 13 months of age during her first bird season. After Greg's couple weeks of work with her, she pointed, retrieved, and backed other dogs. She hunts close, and continually checks in with me. What a dream! I have an older (beloved) setter, breed not to be mentioned, and Lily is about two years ahead of the skills of that other setter. Well, maybe it was Greg’s training skills and my lack of skill. Regardless, Lily is a house dog, and while occasionally a bit energetic, she is a dog that really likes people. I can give the Fryar HFK Kennels my highest recommendation for genetic background of their hunting Llewellins, and for Greg's training touch.

Greg and Karla worked with my lab after a different trainer had spent several weeks with him. They accomplished much more in the short time they worked with him than the other trainer had. I am very happy with the results of their work. They really knew how to produce results!!

We received our first Llewellin from Greg and Carla late summer 2006. We named him ‘Fast Eddie’ or Eddie for short. We picked a Llewellin breed because of the wonderful hunting experience with others who own the breed and were purchased and trained by Carla and Greg's High Fly'n Kennels.

Eddie is now 8-months old and has been a joy to raise. He is extremely intelligent and catches on quickly. It’s apparent he needs to be challenged and engaged with activity. He is a great companion and has adapted to life in our home. He loves movies on the big screen and eating popcorn with Kathy. As of this writing, he is with Greg attending hunting “boot camp”. With Greg’s training assistance, we are looking forward to years of rewarding pheasant hunting as well as Eddie's companionship.

I have trained with Greg for several years. He is a very knowledgeable field trainer and really cares about the dogs. I like the fact he adapts his training program to the individual dog's needs - which is something you don't see enough of in trainers. I would highly recommend this kennel and trainer.

Greg, Carla, and High Fly'n Kennels are top notch! They produce some excellent puppies and are truly interested in the improvement of the Llewellin Setter breed. My Llewellin pup (Chase) is about a year old and I couldn't be happier with him....already a fantastic companion both at home and in the field. Chase spent some training time with Greg this past Autumn doing bird and gun intro which I was also very pleased with. Bottom line...if your looking for a fine Llewellin pup or training for any gun dog High Flyn Kennels is the place to go.

I have had my last 2 dogs trained by Greg at High Fly’n Kennels. The dogs came home happy and healthy. The training and experience gained was phenomenal. I plan to buy my next dog from High Fly’n Kennels and when it is old enough, bring it back for the training program.

Greg's knowledge and touch with retrievers make him well suited to work with gun dogs of all temperaments. His common sense approach and helpful counsel on working through issues combined with sound fundamental techniques ensure results. Highly recommended.

Great source for retriever training including bird and gun introduction for young dogs and more advanced training such as force breaking and collar conditioning. Greg has trained a number of dogs from our Golden breeding program, we have only heard of satisfied customers and happy golden, well trained goldens
