I named him Duke (registered name was Purdy's Bayou Ramblin' Duke) The sire to Duke was the 1995 AFC and the dam had produced 13 AFC and FC in her time. Duke was one of the best dogs I have ever owned. He had a drive to hunt. I had him trained by Stewart Beatty in Heflin, LA. The Beatty's were full up on dogs being traded. They saw him retrieve a few bumpers and that afternoon I received a call from them where they had made room for Duke to be trained. I had to have Duke put down 2008. He had cancer, but even at 12 years old and with cancer, he still had the same drive to hunt as he did at 1 year. I HIGHLY recommend Warhawk Kennels for your puppy purchase.Sincerely, Jamey Purdy Submitted by: Steven Larus on Oct 24, 2011 I have acquired two black labs from Mr.and Mrs. Meadows. The first in 2000 and the second in 2006. Both Maverick and Maddox have been exceptional dogs. Mrs. Meadows was a joy to deal with and her decriptions of how the dogs would be (size, appearance, desire) was spot on. My labs have been incredible on ducks and pheasants in the Dakotas, Kansas, Arkansas and my home state of Virginia. I will share one story- After hunting ducks for two days in Stuttgart,AR the owner of the guide service came to me and asked if I would take $4000 for Maddox (at only 18 months old) (and if he made a phone call he might make it $5000). There was no way I would take any amount of money for him, but also I value my life, my wife would have killed me if I did not come home with Maddox. Submitted by: Trampest Martin on Jan 19, 2011 We purchased a dog from Warhawk Kennels 4.5 years ago that is with out any doubt the best dog I have ever owned. Dixie my dog is full of drive and desire to please the dam was breezes little wonder and the sire was warhawks silver brook max.Everyone who has hunted with has been blown away In my opinion she is every thing a duck dog should be. |
