Deep South Chesapeakes - Louisiana Chesapeake Bay Retriever Breeders

We are a small southern breeder, focusing on preserving the quality of the CBR breed by using parents that are fine representations of the breed with great looks, temperament and drive to hunt, from champion field & show lines. Having had Chesapeakes since children, we simply love the breed. A litter of seven, four males and three females arrived on December 18, 2011, from Roseau and Maddy! Maddy and her first litter of beautiful Chessies are pictured. The Sire, Nordais Le Roseau Sauvage (Bur Oak's Unique Trapper*** x Ch Nordais Fidele Tornade) is a gorgeous muscular, dark brown 88 lbs Chesapeake (OFA Hips Good and Elbows Normal - CERF clear), and the dam, Mandeville's Marvelous Madalyn (Cajun Gator Bait II x Mama's Snazzy Jazzy) is an adorable deadgrass 90lbs Chesapeake (OFA Hips Excellent and CERF Clear). Both are AKC registered, and sire Roseau is also CKC registered. Roseau is from exceptional field/hunt/show lines (Nordais and Sunshine) with many champions. He is an energetic and intelligent sporting dog that never tires of retrieving. Maddy is from solid hunting dog lines. She is a very playful and affectionate Chessie. Both are beautiful Chesapeakes with dense, wooly undercoats and thick wavy topcoats. They are protective family companions but are GREAT with children!
