vom Erntemond - Iowa Deutsch Kurzhaar Breeders

At vom Erntemond Kennel we strive to produce dogs with the combination of versatility, intelligence, biddability, and companionability Our dogs are used to hunt a variety of upland game and waterfowl. In addition, we regularly use our dogs to recover wounded deer for hunters in our area.

We train and breed our dogs to the standards set forth by the Deutsch Kurzhaar Verband in Germany. Every dog must pass conformation evaluations, performance evaluations, and Hip Dysplasia assessments before being allowed to breed.

Jim is a life long hunter and currently serves as the Vice President of the North American Deutsch Kurzhaar Club. He is also a Verbandsrichter approved to evaluate dogs in JGHV and DKV Performance Evaluations and is in the midst of his Apprenticship to be a DK Formwertrichter (Conformation Judge).
