About Shooter's Point Labradors
Welcome to Shooter's Point Labradors.  We are home to 7 APLA Grand Master Retreivers.  Our dogs are excellent retrievers and hard pointing.  From the beginning, it has been the passion of hunting and retrievers that has driven me to be involved in breeding and training.

We are a pointing labrador retriever facility that breeds, trains, and boards  dogs in east central Illinois in the heart of the best pheasant hunting in Illinois.  We have access to thousands of acres of training ground and technical bodies of water to continually offer new training setups for our dogs.  We specialize in breeding, but also offer retriever training, basic obedience, and all-breed boarding.  We have pups available during the spring and fall each year and started dogs on occasion, as well as a variety of dog training and wing shooting retail products.

I have a old girl that is Baxter Bings daughter..My son won 2 pheasant challenges at 13-14 yrs old.. Her days in the field are short do to age but when the birds hold she's on hard point 25 yards away with good wind . And when they run she's a flusher and always brings them right to heal to give retrieve to hand....Amazing I put in the work the breeding was great 12yrs old and 16 pheasant and 50 water retrieves...

The reason we looked at Shooter's point was because of Jeff's demeanor and personality. Jeff cares about his dogs and their well-being. He's concerned with putting out a great product and he does. We have a dog from Shooter's point that is now almost 5 years old. While she has a nice point and is great on dead and injured upland birds her true passion is geese. She has one of the sweetest personalities of any lab we've had. She prefers to be on your lap as opposed to anywhere else. However, as much as she enjoys snuggling don't let her see a gun, blaze orange or camo....she recognizes all of it and that's when she turns the house upside down. She has a HUGE passion for hunting so we got the best of both worlds.

We had the pleasure of having our 3.5 year old lab visit with and stay for training at Jeff's facility. Our dog was a stubborn "stray" that we had adopted a year prior and had tried multiple trainings with, ultimately with poor success. After locating Jeff and bringing our lab to him for the 3 week training period, we were ecstatic. Jeff not only had the patience to work with us but did a high quality job with our lab. At a point where we thought there was no hope for change, Jeff helped us get our lab obedient. To this day I have people telling me "wow she has really come a long way" from when we adopted her, and I have to give all thanks to Jeff.

Although I haven't had the pleasure to purchase a dog from Jeff, I have had the honor of him helping me with training one of my labs. He definitely has the experience and demeanor it takes to train labs. His facility is first rate and the dogs I have witnessed from his kennel are also first rate. Jeff is always eager to provide advice and demonstrate how to proceed with new training scenarios and is trustworthy in evaluating labs.
