About Afterhours Kennels German Wirehaired Pointers
We are a family kennel that has bred several AKC Master Hunters, NAVHDA Versatile Champions, over a hundred AKC Show Champions, Best In Show Winners, National & Regional GWPCA Specialty Winners, Top Producing Sires, Hunting Companions & the most Wonderful Family Pets! We strive to breed versatile German Wirehaired Pointers that not only have nice conformation, can work a field and most importantly have great personalities. We also believe in performing the needed health screenings in our breeding dogs to ensure happy healthy puppies. Afterhours is recognized by the American Kennel Club as a Breeder of Merit. Breeder of Merit participants are dedicated to breeding beautiful purebred dogs whose appearance, temperament, health and ability are true to the German Wirehaired Pointer. At Afterhours Kennels we only breed German Wirehaired Pointers (GWP's) so we can focus on correct breed type & conformation, great temperament, natural working ability and an all around versatile & hard working dog. Afterhours Kennel strives to breed dogs that have all their health certificates and are tested to be health certified free of hip & elbow dysplasia, thyroid, cardiac and CERF by the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFFA). Our puppies are properly socialized with my 3 children. Alexis and Allison have acquired the love of the breed and have been showing since they were very young! We start the babies on the bird wing at 7 weeks. During the summer the babies are introduced to the water and learn how to swim at 7 weeks as well. At 8 weeks of age the babies are seen by the vet for their health certificates, they are dewormed and get their first set of shots. The puppies are dewormed at 2, 3, 4, 6 and 8 weeks! We take pride in our dogs and breeding practices.

Hi ! I bought a female GWP puppy from this breeder in 2004. My dogs name is Afterhours Angel and she was born June 6th 2004. I live in Quebec Canada, and this breed is very hard to find in Canada. I enjoyed the ease of buying my dog from this breeder. Naturally I did everything over the internet, and telephone calls. This breeder sent me over the internet, pictures of the girls she had from that litter, and she let me choose the one I wanted. My little Angel was flown into Canada and we picked her up at the airport. Everything went so well. She is now 4 1/2 years old, and she truly is an Angel to us. I would Highly recommend this breeder to anyone wanting to adopt a GWP. Keep up the good work Afterhours Kennel, your dogs are so great.
