Sage Valley - Alabama American Brittany Breeders

About Sage Valley

Quail and Pheasant available for the 2009-10 season with or without delivery.

Quail and Pheasant hunts available. Call for prices and scheduling.

Our Brittanys are bred from champion foot hunter stock with 4 generation pedigree available. If you don't love Brittanys you've just never had one!

About our pups:

Our pups are usually pointing the wing by 5-6 weeks, and are introduced to live caged birds for play at about 5 weeks. All pups that we keep after 6 weeks are steadily working the wing and playing with live caged birds. By about 8-9 weeks they are usually hunting and pointing open field birds by themselves. At about 9-10 weeks they are introduced to shot and progress up to having birds shot over them at between 4 and 6 months. After 6 months our pups are pretty much ready to hunt if you desire a good dog to take hunting, or ready to train if you desire further refinement. Retrieving is pretty much natural with our pups but can come at varying ages and is very dependant on the owner/trainer. We work on their retrieving as much as they show interest in it at whatever their age is, we do not force train retrieving.

Thanks and enjoy your dogs and hunting!

I just wanted to take a minute to say how much we love our sweet little Meg. She is 10 weeks old now and i just can't get over what a great dog she is. Billy and Tammy were so good to me,patient with all of my questions and visits, and Tammy really helped me feel that she understood just how difficult it was for me to choose the right pup. There is no doubt that they take such good care of their dogs- and love their pups as well. I am so pleased with Billy and have already taken my friend to meet him. She is planning to get a pup from his next litter. Its so nice to find such a capable and gentle breeder that cares for his dogs so much.

We were lucky enough to find Mr. and Mrs. Bonds at a time we were looking for pups to replace our Brittany, Noel, who died on December 1. Mr. Bonds called with news that he had a litter born on December 10th, 2008, that had pups available. We soon had picked out one liver and one orange pup to be part of our lives.

Our new Noel and Holly are the joys of our lives - such sweet little girls, but with a strong hunting instinct. Noel was "pointing" when she was just two months old. They are smart, independent but loving, energetic, easy to discipline pups that show excellent breeding.

Billy and Tammy took such good care of our babies before we got them - they had them wormed, their tails docked and dew claws removed professionally, and must have loved on them because Holly and Noel came to us loving to cuddle!!

I echo other reviews that the Bonds were the easiest, kindest people with whom to work. They met us halfway on our selected day to get the babies. They kept us up to date before we received the pups by sending pictures and e-mails. And, if we ever should want other Brittanys, we will certainly contact them first.

Thanks to the Bonds for filling a lonely place in our hearts with two of the sweetest, smartest dogs in the world. We won't forget the First Noel or Lucy, but these two will certainly make many new memories for us. Thank you again, Billy and Tammy.

I now own one of the male pups from the Dec. 2008 litter. I named him Jack. He is a wonderful pup. He is bold and full of vigor. he activly plays with my 3 yr old lab. He is taking to basic obedience at 11wks old. He also locking down on some fashionable points.
Mr. Bonds was easy to deal with. He made himself available to me. He was more than willing to accomidate me with every request. I would not hesitate to check with Mr. Bonds if I am ever looking for another pup.

Our Zeke is one of the male puppies from the December 10, 2008 litter. Billy went out of his way to meet us between Jacksonville, FL and his home to save us part of the drive. Zeke was very healthhy and it was obvious that Billy and his family took great care of him.

Zeke has a great out-going disposition and quickly fit into our household with two other dogs (Australian Shepherd and Jack Russell Terrier). He seeks out food a mile away! Zeke is already fetching a toy duck and bringing it back for lots of praise. Steve is looking forward to getting started on Zeke's field training when he gets a little older.
